Musto Skiff World Championship, Sydney Harbour

For many years, ACO has globally supported the Musto Skiff Worlds.

In January, ACO Australia was proud to continue ACO’s sponsorship of the 14th Musto Skiff World Championship 2025 held on Sydney Harbour.

This prestigious event is not just a display of sailing prowess but a celebration of innovation, engineering, and ACO’s commitment to caring for water. The competition brought together leading sailors from around the world in what was a thrilling single-handed skiff class.

Congratulations to Andy Tarboton (RSA), who claimed the World Champion title, followed by Robert Richardson (GBR) and Jon Newman (AUS).

Sailors from six nations delivered incredible performances on Sydney Harbour, battling strong gusts, shifting winds, and even rain.

The skiffs reached speeds of up to 20 knots in spectacular races with thrilling tacking manoeuvres.

During the event, ACO Australia invited some key customers on a cruise to observe the races up close. We were also honoured to have with us one of the managing partners of the ACO Group, Iver Ahlmann and his family where Iver was the central focus of the festivities. During the cruise and at the sailing club, he enthusiastically explained to ACO’s customers and staff, every aspect of the sport including its history, the dinghy’s high-performance design (hull, mast boom), spinnaker and rigging systems, the solo challenges of the sailor – skill, athleticism, racing tactics and versatility in conditions. Iver answered many quality questions which highlighted how engaged everyone was. Many of the customers who attended contacted ACO directly after the event to express their delight and appreciation for being in attendance.

As the headline sponsor, ACO is dedicated to sustainable water management. Our support for the Musto Skiff World Championships reflects our love and care for water resources.
